What To Expect During A Massage
If it is your first time having a massage, it is normal to feel a bit anxious or to have questions about what to expect during your treatment. I have therefore provided some information that I hope will put your mind at rest.
All first treatments include a full (and confidential) consultation to discuss medical history, past and present injuries, and other health conditions to establish how massage therapy could be beneficial to you (occasionally, with some more serious health conditions, it is possible that massage is not suitable). Following this, I will leave the treatment room for a few minutes so that you can undress in private down to your underwear. Once undressed, you can make yourself comfortable on the massage bed and cover yourself with the clean towels provided. I will knock before re-entering the room to ensure that you are ready to start your treatment.
You can expect a calm and relaxing environment during your massage with gentle background music, and I will regularly check that the pressure I am using is right for you.
Modesty is protected at all times using professional draping techniques, with only the part of the body being massaged exposed to ensure this.
At the end of your treatment, I will offer you a drink of water and leave the treatment room again so that you can relax for a while and then re-dress in private.
